The Belvedere Blues Foundation (known formally as the ‘Fremont Community Non-Profit Center Foundation’) is an all-volunteer group dedicated to improving the quality of life in Fremont County, Colorado.
While our community has been without a local “United Way” chapter for several years, the local Belvedere Blues Festival has been working to provide that very important support role to the Fremont County community since 1999.
In addition to the fundraising through the Blues Festival, we also run the area “Let It Rip!” paper recycling program, collecting all types of paper (not cardboard!) at more than 20 bins spread throughout Cañon City, Florence and Penrose. The recycling program not only helps the environment, it helps fund local causes!
Our board has disbursed more than $17,000 just since the Seventh Annual Belvedere Blues Festival held in September, 2006. Since the inception of the blues festival, more than $135,000 has been given away to local non-profit groups, humanitarian causes and area organizations. (Click the “Who Do We Help?” button below)
We have an all-volunteer board and a host of wonderful supporters, donors and sponsors for our annual event, and we owe our success to them.
While we are a totally separate entity from Merlinos’ Belvedere Restaurant, they are kind enough to allow us to use their parking lots for the whole weekend, and their employees volunteer countless hours to the cause. Thank you to the Merlino family and all their employees!!
